SKOKIE— A Skokie man was arrested and charged with impersonating a lawyer Friday in the North Side Uptown neighborhood.

Tahir Malik, 49, of the 7800 block of Niles Center Road in Skokie, was charged with a felony count of falsely impersonating a lawyer, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

Malik was arrested at 12:45 p.m. Friday in the 5000 block of North Clark Street after a victim identified him, Greer said.

Malik allegedly told the victim he was a lawyer and was paid $1,400 to help him with traffic charges, Greer said.

Malik was expected Saturday in bond court.
