Your family can tour Lincolnwood’s beautiful parks and have fun at every stop during Pedal the Parks from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19. The event begins at Proesel Park, Lincoln, Kostner and Morse avenues, and includes eight other parks that can be reached via a nine-mile route.

“We’re hoping that people will come out and enjoy the Lincolnwood parks,” said Genelle Iocca, community outreach coordinator.

At each stop, a sponsoring business will offer a challenge or activity, such as a minute-to-win it contest or tree climbing.

“You don’t have to do the entire route,” Iocca said. “You can pick the parks you want to go to.”

Residents pay $20 per family; nonresidents $25. Registration begins on-site at 9 a.m. on event day but preregistration is encouraged.

Participants receive a packet that contains a coupon for a free lunch from Corner Bakery Cafe (while supplies last), a water bottle and a route map.
