An 8-year-old boy riding a bicycle was killed in a three-car crash Monday afternoon in Skokie.

The crash happened at 4:24 p.m. when a vehicle traveling south on St. Louis Avenue tried to turn left on Main Street and hit an eastbound vehicle, Skokie police said.

The driver lost control after the crash and hit the child, who was near the northeast corner of Main Street and St. Louis Avenue, police said.

Carter Vo of the 4600 block of Madison Street in Skokie was dead at the scene, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The same car went on to hit another vehicle in the northwest corner of the intersection, police said. One other person was treated for superficial cuts.

The North Regional Major Crimes Task Force’s Major Crash Assist Team is helping Skokie police investigate.
