Scary Stories Contest returns this year

Pioneer Press is again sponsoring its Scary Story Contest for children in the third-, fourth- and fifth-grades.
Stories should be no longer than 350 words and must include: The child’s name, home address and telephone number; the child’s grade level; and the name and address of the child’s school. Entries without this information will be disqualified.
The child’s address and telephone number will only be used to notify winners and will not be published.
Entries must be original and cannot include characters or plots from movies, television shows or books, or be a dream sequence.
Artwork is welcome, and although no prizes will be awarded, we will publish some of the best artwork.
Prizes will be given for the winners in first, second and third place in each grade level. Winners will be printed in the Oct. 25 edition.
Deadline to submit entries is 5 p.m. Oct. 12. Entries should be emailed to mschmitz@pioneerlocal.com, or mailed or dropped off at our office at 3701 W. Lake Ave., Glenview, IL 60026. For information, call (847) 486-7481. ~.
