Election filings begin in Skokie

Updated: January 21, 2013 3:21PM

Candidates running for seats on the Skokie Village Board, Skokie’s plethora of school boards, the Skokie Library Board and the Skokie Park Board started filing petitions Monday to run in the April 9 election.

The deadline for filing petitions is 5 p.m. Dec. 26.

Petitions must be signed by at least 50 registered voters or 10 percent of voters, whichever is less, who reside in the district or village.

Next year’s election promises to have several contested races including for seats on the Village Board. The Skokie Village Board election has not been contested for years.

The Review will have a listing of candidates on-line after the deadline and in the Jan. 3 print edition. ~.
