Man robs hair salon on Chicago’s North Side

Updated: February 4, 2013 2:10PM

A man robbed a hair salon Monday in Chicago’s Wicker Park community.

The suspect entered the Great Clips salon in the 1200 block of North Ashland about 10:45 a.m., displayed a weapon and demanded money, police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.

The suspect, described as a white or Hispanic male, then fled in an unknown direction, she said.

Last Tuesday, a suspect robbed a Great Clips salon in the 1000 block of West Webster Avenue in Chicago’s Lincoln Park community, police said.

It is unclear if the latest robberies are the work of the same man suspected of robbing several hair salons on the North Side and north suburbs including Skokie, Evanston and Park Ridge.
