Israeli soldiers to talk on Israeli-Arab conflict

Two soldiers, Jossi Herzog and Itzik Yushuvaev from Israel will speak at Lincolnwood Jewish Congregation A.G. Beth Israel at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 17 at the Congregation, 7117 N. Crawford Ave., Lincolnwood.
Israeli Soldiers Speak Out is an innovative program featuring a diverse group of reserve duty Israeli college students. Their mission is to educate, inform, delve into conversation about the Israeli-Arab conflict by putting a human face to the Israel Defense Forces uniform.
Meet these citizen soldiers with combat experience who served in the IDF during missions in Gaza and Lebanon. Come hear their stories from the front lines that you won’t find in the headlines.
Jossi Herzog who is currently pursuing a LLB Law degree at Tel Aviv University and has been involved in various missions representing Israel and dealing with Israel Education including serving as the LGBT contact at the Israeli consulate in Los Angeles, speaking on behalf of StandWithUs and being active in the student body at Lester University in the UK. Jossi served in the CoGat Unit of the IDF and dealt with many international representatives.
Itzik Yushuvaev is an alumnus of The StandWithUs Fellowship of 2009 at Bar-Ilan University. During his studies at Bar-Ilan he was active in many groups, including serving as the CEO of the student Union of Bar-Ilan, taking part in debate and being a part of the European Students Union, representing Israel. He has a bachelor of arts in political science and communications and studying for his MBA at Bar-Ilan. Currently, he is also the head of the department for social involvement at the National Union of Israeli Students. Itzik served in the 92nd Battalion of the Shimshon unit of the IDF and served during the second Intifada.
