SKOKIE – Oakton Community College and Roosevelt University signed a new Dual Degree Program agreement on Wednesday, Aug. 29, strengthening their long-standing partnership. The program will provide guaranteed acceptance to Roosevelt for students within it, making it easier for them to complete both associate and bachelor's degrees.
At the ceremony at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, Roosevelt President Chuck Middleton said the agreements "provide a pathway for full-time students to earn high quality, accessible and affordable four-year degrees close to home from both Oakton and Roosevelt."
For the selected programs, the Dual Degree Program established credit guides. Students can choose from a variety of programs, and their degree requirements will be locked in for three years.
The areas of study included in the program are B.S. in Business Administration, B.S. in Computer Science, B.A. in Information Technology, B.A. or B.S. in Math with Secondary Education Certificate, B.A. in Psychology and B.A. in Integrated Marketing Communications.
The program also offers students financial advantages. Roosevelt tuition rates for students within the program will be determined on their Oakton GPA. Students will also be eligible for three scholarships toward their annual tuition, $15,000, $12,500 or $1,000.
"I am very grateful to President Middleton and to his colleagues at Roosevielt, to Oakton's Vice President of Academic Affairs Thomas Hamel and to all of our Deans at Oakton for their diligent collaboration culminating in the agreement we sign today, "said Oakton President Margaret B. Lee. "We have together created a new pathway for our students and strengthened the partnership forged over many years between Roosevelt and Oakton."
