Four candidates slated for District 68 Board

SKOKIE — Skokie School District 68’s Nominating Committee has slated four candidates for next spring’s election for four open seats on the largest Skokie school district’s board of education.
Only two incumbents, both slated, are running for re-election.
Una McGeough has served on the District 68 Board since 2008. She has been a resident of District 68 since 2002. She and her husband have three children, one of whom attends Highland Elementary School, one Old Orchard Jr. High, and the other Niles North High School.
Amy Anson has served on the District 68 Board since 2009. She has been a resident of District 68 since 1998. Self-employed as a clinical psychologist, she and her husband have two daughters who attended Devonshire Elementary School and Old Orchard Jr. High. One daughter is now in college and one attends Niles North High School.
Newcomer Todd Fingerman has lived in District 68 since 2009. He is the director of Copper Processing for Universal Scrap Metals. Fingerman and his wife have three children, two of whom attend Devonshire Elementary School and one who attends the District 68 Early Childhood Center.
Newcomer Mark Weil has lived in District 68 since 1995. He is the director of information technology for RR Donnelley. He and his wife have three children, one of whom attends Jane Stenson Elementary School, one Old Orchard Jr. High, and the other Niles North High School.
Candidate petition forms for the April 9, 2013, school board election are available in the superintendent’s office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on any business day at the Educational Service Center, 9440 Kenton Ave.
Nominating petitions became available for circulation Sept. 25.
A school board candidate’s petition must be filed in the same office no earlier than 8 a.m. Dec. 17 and no later than 5 p.m. Dec. 24. Candidates’ names will appear on the election ballot in the order in which nominating papers are received.
Members of the 2013 Nominating Committee for District 68 are Steve Gardner, chair, and Frank Alkyer, Caryn Bean, Pazit Burstin, Meghan Espinoza, Edie Hertel, Kristin Jacobsen, Karen Koehler-Davis, Chris Rivero, Tracy Sullivan, Andrew Toy, Michael Whitney, Lisa Zagorin, and Allison Zidek.
