Niles North standout forward Mariayan Henley will be a Flyer, but she can drive to her collegiate destination this fall.

Henley will join Trinity’s Alyssa Dengler and three others on the Lewis women’s basketball team for 2012-13, head coach Lisa Carlsen announced last month.

“This class will add some much needed size and physicality to our 2012 roster,” Carlsen said. “It’s a very athletic group and I believe they have potential to make an immediate impact on our program.”

Henley, a 6-0 forward, earned four varsity letters at Niles North. In 2011 she was named all-state honorable mention and all-area. She recorded over 1,000 career points at Niles North. She was named all-Warren Classic Tournament three times.

“Mariyah is a very versatile player who can either utilize her size and strength down low or be effective on the perimeter with her range,” Carlsen said.
